An Interview with the President
The new president of Hampshire College, Ralph J. Hexter, was interviewed by the co-editors-in-chief of The Climax, Saurav J. Thapa and Alexander C. Brevig on September 20 and 22. The interviews mainly dealt with the state of Hampshire's finances, student life issues and with the life and personal history of President Hexter. The Harvard, Yale and Oxford educated president was friendly and welcoming, giving The Climax editors over an hour from his busy schedule for the interviews. Lounging Around
It is a common practice for schools to admit more students than they have room for. For example, they will admit one thousand people in order to get four hundred to enroll. This formula is carefully constructed. However, some years - like this year - more students enroll than predicted, and there ends up being more students than there are beds. Read More
The Yurt is Alive with the Sound of Music
Did you know that Hampshire has its own radio station? It's called the Yurt and is located between the library and FPH. Last semester, I, along with a grand total of three other people, had a radio show on the Yurt.
